Inauguration of the first Scientific Crime Laboratory in Cyprus "THE CRIME LAB"
The first Scientific Crime Laboratory in Cyprus, named “THE CRIME LAB” was established by entrepreneur Andreas An. Georgiou of ΑΑnG Group and former Hellenic Police General and Cybercrime Analyst, Manolis Sfakianakis.
“The Crime Lab” of Cyprus is a unique and innovative Scientific Crime Investigation Laboratory that incorporates 15 specialized labs. It is accessible to all Cypriot citizens, offering precise and scientifically reliable answers to any matter related to criminal behaviors through modern procedures and analysis methods. It addresses both perpetrators and victims as well as professionals involved in the investigation of such incidents.
For the first time, criminologists, criminal behavior analysts, and scientists from various specialties join forces under this initiative, bringing advanced expertise and scientific knowledge to support the invaluable work of justice officials. Their goal is to uncover the truth through meticulous investigation and the resolution of criminal cases.
The first Scientific Crime Laboratory “The Crime Lab,” was founded originally in Greece by Manolis Sfakianakis. Recognizing the necessity of this initiative, Andreas An. Georgiou brought it to Cyprus in collaboration with the Greek founder.
The Crime Lab of Cyprus held its inaugural event on Thursday, November 7, 2024, at the Municipal Theater of Nicosia under the title “The Investigation and Solving of Crime.”
The event gathered professionals from the field of Criminology, police officers, justice officials, academics, as well as citizens who wished to learn more about crime investigation and resolution.
